Health Policy and Advocacy

Goal 5 of DNA's Strategic Plan is Advocacy and Influence. The DNA will be an effective advocate for members, patients, and the general public. This goal focuses on promoting an understanding of our financial resources and membership involvement in legislative efforts. Members of the DNA benefit by making an impact on legislation, increasing the availability of educational tools by utilizing our financial resources, and partnering with other organizations to achieve a common goal. To reach this goal, the DNA will:

Objective 1: Increase overall awareness of financial strategies and resources.
Objective 2: Increase membership involvement and understanding in advocacy efforts.
Objective 3: Develop a Political Action Committee.
Objective 4: Increase nurses' and patients' access to educational tools.
